Toowoomba has over 70 kilometres of pathways, which begin in most suburbs and give cyclists and pedestrians access to several key destinations.

You can cycle or walk to work and school, to visit friends, or just for relaxation. Whatever your reasons, avoid the traffic by using Toowoomba's cycleways.

They are a great way to get to your destination safely, particularly for young children who may be nervous amid traffic. Cycling can be fun, but always remember to wear a helmet and give way to pedestrians on shared cycleways.

Toowoomba City Council is committed to developing infrastructure to support cycle and pedestrian transport by developing a Toowoomba Cycle and Pedestrian Strategy (TCPS). The aim of this strategy is to look at the issues and needs of cyclists and pedestrians in our city.

It will explore opportunities for making these modes of transport more viable, safe and attractive for Toowoomba residents and visitors. Council is encouraging community members to provide input into the development of this strategy.
