Adoption of Toowoomba Regional Planning Scheme and Planning Scheme Policies
Notice is hereby given that on 20 March, 2012 the Toowoomba Regional Council adopted the Toowoomba Regional
Planning Scheme and the following planning scheme policies:

  • Planning Scheme Policy No. 1 – Development Application Requirements;
  • Planning Scheme Policy No. 2 – Engineering Standards – Roads and Drainage Infrastructure;
  • Planning Scheme Policy No. 3 – Engineering Standards – Water and Waste Water Infrastructure;
  • Planning Scheme Policy No. 4 – Development Near Utility Services;
  • Planning Scheme Policy No. 6 – Heritage Places;
  • Planning Scheme Policy No. 7 – Neighbourhood Character Places; and
  • Planning Scheme Policy No. 8 – Street Trees.


The planning scheme and planning scheme policies commence on 1 July, 2012.

Toowoomba Regional Council formally adopted the Toowoomba Regional Planning Scheme and planning scheme policies at a meeting on March 20, 2012, following the Minister for Local Government and Planning’s approval of the planning scheme..

In February the State Government confirmed that the final version of the Toowoomba Regional Planning Scheme (TRPS) met all of the requirements for planning and development under the Sustainable Planning Act 2009.

 

The new planning scheme is due to commence on July 1, 2012, after which it will be the official document for planning and development for the entire region.

The new planning scheme was adopted on March 20 and is due to commence on July 1, 2012.

The current planning schemes continue to operate until the commencement of the new planning scheme. All properly made applications up to the commencement of the new planning scheme will be assessed under the current planning schemes.

After the commencement of the new planning scheme in 2012, the current planning schemes will be referred to as superseded planning schemes.

Copies of the new planning scheme will be available for purchase on CD (in pdf files) from any council customer service centre from Monday March 26, 2012.

 

The Toowoomba Regional Planning Scheme is due to commence on July 1, 2012. 

 

Please note that once the new planning scheme commences it will be available to view on council’s website.
