The $2.7 million Jellicoe Street bridge reconstruction is currently underway with completion scheduled for mid June, weather permitting.
F K Gardner & Sons was appointed by council as the construction contractor for this project.
A number of design adjustments to the Jellicoe Street bridge plans have made it necessary to delay the project completion date to mid June. Council continues to work with neighbouring businesses to improve damaged carpark areas near the site and to landscape, stabilise and beautify nearby areas. The bridge is on schedule to re-open in mid-June 2012. Earlier in the year, wet weather and issues with relocation of a water main delayed the project by several weeks.
Adjacent residents and businesses are being kept informed of upcoming works through a fortnightly letterbox drop and regular news articles.
