When did the City Centre Master Plan project begin?

The project began in February 2009 and the final Master Plan, Implementation Plan and Sustainability Report were all adopted by council in May 2010.

Stakeholder and community consultation sessions that were held to allow the public to have input into the Master Plan occurred throughout the process.

In June 2010 more than 400 residents attended public information sessions where they were offered a glimpse into life in a revitalised garden city under the City Centre Master Plan.

The presentation displayed the proposed inner city spaces as well as upgraded residential, commercial and retail precincts.

Following council's adoption of the plan in 2010, the focus shifted to the Implementation Plan and now work is starting to make the plan a reality.
