Nobby was the home to Steele Rudd (real name Arthur Hoey Davis) who wrote three of his Dad 'n' Dave stories while living in the district. 'Rudds Pub' at Nobby is home to a large collection of memorabilia of yesteryear. Rudd's Pub was built in 1893 and was originally called the "Davenporter" hotel, the name was changed to Rudd's Pub in the 1980's in recognition of Steele Rudd.
