History of the region

Old photo The Toowoomba Regional Council covers an area rich in Australia’s pioneering spirit. From the early 1800s, when explorers first set their eyes upon the fertile land, it was destined to become one of Australia’s rural heartlands and give birth to the vibrant city of Toowoomba and many other towns. Over the past two centuries the region has continued to attract new residents and grow to become an integral part of Queensland.
