Toowoomba Regional Council’s day use area at Cooby Dam wall has been closed to public access until further notice.
High levels of algal toxins present in raw water at the wall have made the closure necessary.
Raw or untreated water is supplied to all taps and toilet facilities at this location. Contact with, or drinking of this water may cause skin irritations.
Loveday Cove, also located at Cooby Dam, remains open as water supplied to facilities at this location is sourced from a bore and does not contain algal toxins.
Water pumped from Cooby Dam is treated before supply to residents and this treatment removes toxins otherwise present in raw water.
For more information, please contact council on 4688 6564.
