Residents within the new Toowoomba Regional Council boundary can join any of the region’s libraries for free. Residents outside Toowoomba need to present identification showing their residential address to be eligible to join the Toowoomba City Library for free and the same process applies to Toowoomba residents who wish to join other libraries in the amalgamated local government area. Residents can assist the Library staff by returning items to the original borrowing site. Many types of material are available for loan. They may include books, large print books, community language books, talking books, abridged talking books, videos, CD's, audio cassettes and magazines. Many other services are available from the region's various libraries, such as internet access, special programmes, online databases and other research tools. The libraries also have access to over half a million books held by the Public Library Services of the State Library in Brisbane via the Queensland Country Lending Service. |
