Free Heritage Advisory Service LogoA Heritage Adviser visits Council one day a week to speak to residents and property owners about conservation of the region’s buildings.

This free service helps owners undertaking redevelopment of refurbishment work to maintain the character and style of their properties and surrounds. It is available to all property owners of commercial, residential and rural buildings. Design consultants, land developers and trades people are also encouraged to take advantage of this free service.

This service typically offers advice on colour schemes, extensions, verandahs, garages and carports, awnings and fencing as well as more comprehensive advice on the integration of new development in older areas. Advice is often provided on the appropriate form, scale and detailing of new work. The advice given is general and should be considered as the starting point for more extensive work that may require an architect, builder or designer.
