Waterways & catchments
In the future our water supplies will be under much greater pressures than today. As individuals and as a community, we need to value water as a precious resource and practice waterwise behaviours.
The Toowoomba Regional Council Water Demand Management Program is able to help in a variety of ways. See the items under water in the main menu (left) to find out more!
Check the dam levels and our usage on the following links;
Toowoomba dam levels (PDF 401 Kb - new window)
Toowoomba weekly water supply statistics (PDF 138 Kb - new window)

Did you know that rainfall in the City of Toowoomba does not contribute to our dam levels.
Toowoomba's rainfall information is collected at the Toowoomba airport and this can be very confusing for all concerned when rain reports on the radio and television don't reflect in the dam levels. Most of Toowoomba's rainwater goes into Oakey Creek, onwards to the Condamine River, the start of the Murray Darling System.
This map (left) shows the catchment areas of Toowoomba's three dams. |
