Quirky characters on show at Crows Nest Regional Art Gallery

lastcleanclothes_smlSomething only we know [entwined realities via insulated psyches] is a new exhibition featuring works in a variety of media that will draw you into the wild and whimsical imaginations of four delightfully expressive Toowoomba-based artists: Kelly-Marie McEwan, Danish Quapoor, Ester de Boer and Chelsie Luck.

Soft sculptures created with familiar textile processes such as crochet, sewing and rug-making form curious domestic installations and fairy-tale settings by Kelly-Marie McEwan.

Danish Quapoor cleverly creates quirky characters with pen and collage, and Ester de Boer’s drawings and etchings come with a friendly warning that they could “blow your mind with not only their impressive skill and intricacy, but oh, the surreal places you’ll go”.

Fairy_Ring_2Chelsie Luck is a favourite on the Toowoomba art scene and after a very near sell-out show at Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery, her inexhaustible creativity continues with a series of small intuitive paintings expressing her emotions through one of the characters who are a consistent feature in her work.

The exhibition will be on display at Crows Nest Regional Art Gallery until Sunday, October 2.
