Unlike Cooby and Cressbrook, Toowoomba's other water supply lakes, fishing and boating are not permitted at Lake Perseverance. But that doesn't mean there is nothing to do.
For picnickers there are free gas barbecues, shelter sheds and gazebos. Read more about Perserverance Dam Park in our parks & gardens area of this website.
Lake Perseverance is only available for canoeing and water skiing for the Perseverance Aquatic Club (opens in new window) and those participating in organised activities conducted by the Queensland Government Department of National Parks, Recreation, Sport and Racing (opens in new window).
The Lake Perseverance Outdoor Recreation Centre, which is operated by the Queensland State Government, is located near the lake and serves as an excellent accommodation base for those participating in organised activities and for general outdoor education opportunities. The Centre is the ideal location for school and community group camps. For bookings please telephone the Queensland Department of Communities on 07 5507 0200.
