With fishing, boating, childrens playground, beach volleyball and excellent barbecue and picnic areas, Lake Cressbrook is a great place to relax.The children's playground, beach volleyball and barbecue facilities are free.
Lake Cressbrook is a leisurely 50 km drive from Toowoomba, and about 15 minutes drive from Crows Nest. It's easily accessible from the New England Highway via Pechey or Crows Nest or from the Esk-Hampton Road near Ravensbourne. A limit of 14 consecutive nights camping applies.
The boom gates at Lake Cressbrook are now fully operational and a $2.50 entry fee per vehicle applies. The vending machine accepts any denomination or combination of legal coins (except 5 cent pieces) up to a value of $2.50 but does not give any change.
The day use area is open from 6 am to 8 pm (September to April) and from 7am to 6 pm (May to August). Water based activities are not permitted outside these hours (campers included).
Fishing permits are available online at the Department Of Primary Industries online shop or from most tackle outlets.
With level tent sites, showers and toilets (with disabled access), hot and cold water and shared barbecues and fireplaces, Lake Cressbrook a great place to camp.
As the lake is a flora and fauna reserve, domestic animals are not permitted so please leave your pets at home.
A self registration system operates at Lake Cressbrook's camping ground. Simply register yourself upon arrival at the camping ground as no bookings are taken at any time. Camping fees are $7.90 per person per night (under 5 free) or $31.60 for a family of two adults and any number of children(under 18). Fees are $7.10 per night per person for groups of 20 or more.
Please note that firewood is not available on site, either for sale or by collection. All firewood for use at your campsite is strictly BYO (bring your own).
