Lake Cooby offers activities for all members of the family. There's plenty of good fishing spots and boat access (electric motors only) or perhaps you're into more strenuous water sports such as sailing or canoeing. But you don't have to be an angler or sailor to enjoy what Lake Cooby has to offer.
There are walking tracks for more energetic landlubbers and excellent shelters and free gas barbecue facilities for those who just want to spend a few lazy hours on a family picnic. A children's playground also caters for younger members of the family and toilet blocks have disabled access. Camping facilities are not available at Lake Cooby.
The boom gates at Love Day Cove are now fully operational and a $2.50 entry fee per vehicle applies. The vending machine accepts any denomination or combination of legal coins (except 5 cent pieces) up to a value of $2.50 but does not give any change. Entry to the Dam wall recreation area is still free.
Loveday Cove is open from 7am to 8 pm (September to April) and from 7 am to 6 pm (May to August) each year. The Dam Wall Picnic Area remains closed.
Fishing permits are available online at the Department Of Primary Industries online shop or from most tackle shops.
