The primary aim of the service is to ensure equity of access to library services for residents who have vision, hearing, intellectual or mobility disabilities. The service provides equipment and resources to support this aim.

Toowoomba Region has a Mobile Library service catering to communities otherwise disadvantaged by distance.

The Mobile Library currently visits the communities of Meringandan West, Gowrie Junction, Kingsthorpe, Bowenville, Jondaryan, Mt. Tyson, Kulpi, Cooyar, Wyreema, Westbrook Cambooya, and Greenmount.

If you, or someone you know, is unable to access the library due to being home bound (either permanently or temporarily), the Homebound Library Service operates within the Toowoomba City and Highfields boundaries. This is a free service and to be eligible a doctor’s certificate is required.

Landcare material is provided through the Goombungee Library and the John French VC Memorial Library. 

The material at the John French VC Memorial Library was provided by the Crows Nest Landcare Group, who also donated a TV-video to the library.  The material includes videos, magazines, pamphlets and books.

Meeting rooms are available at some of the region's libraries.  Contact us  for more information. 

The Clifton Library and Community Centre houses two meeting rooms which are available for hire free of charge during office hours. Night meetings are free of charge if a staff member is present otherwise a charge of $40.00 an hour is applicable

The Internet provides a variety of research and communications tools including the World Wide Web (www), file transfer, newsgroups,  as well as email (Only Web based email is supported). The Library provides access by a standard browser (Microsoft’s Internet Explorer) to the World Wide Web and email.

The Southern Queensland Theology Library (SQTL) was the vision of our founding president, Bishop C. A. Warren, and is an ecumenical initiative to make available the riches of theological literature for the interest of general readers as well as those engaged in serious study. It has the backing of the Catholic, Anglican, Uniting and Lutheran Churches, and holds books on comparative religion, and some donated by the Jewish community.

Online resources provide access to a wide range of electronic information, from our Library Online Catalogue (opens in new window) where you are able to search for items, renew items and place reservations.

In conjunction with the State Library of Queensland website, we are able to provide access to quality information sources in a variety of Full Text Journal databases. Linked from the Online resources page are a small collection of Internet search platforms, which can be used as a starting point for any web searching. We also provide Internet access from within the Libraries.

Useful Links - a variety of useful links that our Librarians have come across in the carrying out of their duties and felt would be of benefit to the community.

The World Wide Web (or www), the graphical front-end to the Internet, offers many searching tools or search engines, as they are commonly known, to navigate the resources of the Internet.
