eAudiobooks FAQs

What is the difference between eAudiobooks and ebooks?
eAudiobooks are an online version of CD books (or audio books) and are books which you listen to, as opposed
to ebooks which you download and read.

Will you be getting ebooks?
Yes in the future (6-12 months) we will be purchasing ebooks.

What devices can I use to download eAudiobooks to?
Any device that can play an MP3 file eg Ipads, Ipod touch, MP3 players, Iphones.

I don’t have any of these devices, can you recommend one I can purchase?
Staff cannot recommend particular devices.  Stores such as electronic and department stores supply devices.

How many eAudiobooks do Toowoomba Libraries have?
Over 400, including 105 children’s and 63 YA.

How many eAudiobooks can I borrow and reserve?
You may have 4 eAudiobooks on loan or reserve at any one time (a reservation counts as a loan).

How long can I borrow the eAudiobooks for?
2 weeks

How long do I have to collect my reservation?
2 weeks

Is the quality of sound good?
Yes it is the same quality as any MP3 file.

How do I return my eAudiobook?
There is no need to return your eAudiobook as it will automatically return after 2 weeks.  Even if you borrowed
it accidentally and no longer require it, it will stay on your library card until the 2 weeks is complete.  The eAudiobook
will remain on your device until you remove it yourself.

Why do the eAudiobooks I have on loan not appear on my library membership card?
When you have signed in to use eAudiobooks via the Bolinda Digital site, the eAudiobooks you borrow and return
will appear in this record, rather than your library membership record.

I don’t have a computer at home so can I download eAudiobooks at the library?
Unfortunately no, as there are restrictions on data downloads on council’s computer facilities.

Can I cancel my reservation?
No as there is a 2 week timeframe for every reservation and loan which enables customers to know what
date they will receive their eAudiobook.

My Internet connection is very slow - is there anything I can do?
You can download the eAudiobooks one part at a time.  You will still need to download all parts within the 2
week timeframe.

Can I bookmark where I get up to on the eAudiobook?
You can use ‘Pause’ on your device to bookmark your place (but not on your computer).

How can I read a synopsis about the book?
On the Bolinda Digital site, click on the picture of the book cover to get the blurb, any awards won, duration,
file size etc.

How can I find out more about the author?
On the Bolinda Digital site, click on the author hyperlink and a biography and photograph will appear.

I downloaded an eAudiobook to my computer and can’t find it in iTunes.
The eAudiobooks download to Music, ‘Albums’ on iTunes.

How do I download the title when it becomes available?
A reminder email with a direct download link will be sent out to you on the date that it is available for download.
You can also download the title any time during the loan period from your my Account page.

If I don’t finish the eAudiobook within 2 weeks, can I still listen to it later?
Yes the eAudiobook will remain on the device until they delete it (but it does take up a lot of space).

What do I do if I have a technical issue that can’t be answered?
The customer can go into the TRC/Bolinda eAudiobook site and on the Feedback section, can post their question.
Bolinda will respond within 24-48 hours.
