Laurel Bank Park is situated on the western side of Toowoomba bordered by Herries, West and Hill streets. It is one of Toowoomba's most spectacular parks and retains the qualities of its history as an estate.
It also has a unique attraction - the scented gardens. Developed especially for the visually impaired community, it has proven popular with all visitors to the park.
Rose Garden and Wisteria Walk
Set within a diamond-shaped hedge, this formal rose garden is romantic and fragrant. A sculpture in the centre is accessible by a pathway.
Nearby, an arched wisteria walk flanked with feature pots boasts colourful scented blooms in spring.
Scented Gardens
East of the park is an area suitable for smaller groups, with paved areas leading to a formal fountain and a small oriental bridge on which to stage your wedding or take photographs.
The herbs create a wonderful aroma, whilst the trees and shrubs give an attractive backdrop.
Formal Garden
From the Hill Street entrance, a pathway lined with cedar, cyprus and exquisite flower displays leads to one of the most extensive floral arrangements in Toowoomba.
Large groups and more formal weddings are perfect in this setting.
Flower annuals may be displayed around September.
Note: Laurel Bank Park is not available for hire during the two weeks of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers event.
