Free shower rose exchange

While stocks last, council is continuing its offer of free 3 star shower roses through an exchange program. This applies for all properties connected to town water supplies within Toowoomba Regional Council boundaries. Star rating is based on the WELS rating (opens in new window).

You can save a bucket of water per minute by using a 3 star shower rose.  Now you have the chance to get rid of your rusty old water-wasting shower rose and replace it with a shiny new water-efficient model. And it won't cost you a cent.

To receive your free water efficient shower rose, bring to the enquiry counter of your local service centre the following items:

• your old shower rose (maximum of 2 per household)
• rates notice and
• personal ID such as a driver's licence.

Conditions apply to the shower rose exchange program. Ask for a complimentary shower timer when you exchange your old shower rose for a waterwise one.

More than 11,490 local residents have already taken up the offer of our free 'new for old' exchange program.  Congratulations!

The shower and bathroom account for over 20% of water used in the home. 3 star (WELS rated) shower roses can help you save by reducing the amount of water and power you use in the shower.  3 star (WELS rated) shower roses use just nine litres per minute, whereas traditional shower roses use up to 25 litres a minute.  That is a saving of up to 64 litres in a four minute shower; (that’s 7 buckets saved)!

Council is offering each residential household two 3 star (WELS rated) shower roses FREE (provided the home is connected to a town water supply).  The shower rose offered is a modern quality product with high water efficiency; you won’t even notice that less water is coming out of the shower rose.  3 star (WELS rated) shower roses can save you more than $200 per year in water charges and water heating costs.
