Mayor Dianne Thorley briefed the media with a schedule of events set to engage the community for the ‘yes’ campaign.
Cr Thorley explained that with the poll date now set, it gave the Water Futures team 10 weeks to present their case for water recycling.
The facts speak for themselves in this project but we need to make sure the public gets to hear about them, Cr Thorley said.
If we succeed in getting the information into the community, I have no doubt that an informed choice at the poll will be a vote ‘yes’.
The first of Toowoomba City Council’s ‘yes’ campaign events will be water taste testing at Laurel Bank Park on Sunday week.
Members of the public can do some water taste testing and chat to Councillors or Water Futures staff members about the project,” Deputy Mayor Cr Joe Ramia said.
The events scheduled for the ‘yes’ campaign are as follows:
May 28 Water Taste Testing at Laurel Bank Park, 12 noon until 1.00pm
June 4 – World Environment Day at Lake Annand Park, 10.00am until 3.30pm
