Proposed timelines

Proposed timelines for the project are as follows:

• 2005 – 2008:  Installation of additional bores.
• September 2006: Wetalla water reclamation plant completed.
• 30 June 2005: TCC funding proposal to the National Water Commission
• Early 2006: Prime Minister makes a decision on the project.  If the decision is favourable;
• End September 2007: 4 star water to Acland mine begins
• End 2007: Advanced Water Treatment Plant (AWT) -Stage 1 completed. Visitor Information Centre opened. Water monitoring program begins.  If water is approved by independent authorities, Cooby dam is brought offline and 6 star water will begin flowing into Cooby dam.
• Mid 2009:  Proceed with building AWTP-Stage 2 (100% capacity).
• Mid 2010.  AWTP Stage 2 completed.
• Mid of 2010 Water will flow from Cooby dam through Mt Kynoch into Toowoomba’s water supply.  This could be earlier or later depending on the results of testing and dam levels at the time.   4 star water flows to Hampton irrigation area.
