Free mulch

Whether preventing water evaporation, suppressing weeds or adding to soil fertility, mulch is a valuable addition to any garden.  

Mulch is offered to all ratepayers in the region at many of the waste facillities.

Greenwaste that is disposed of at any waste facility is stockpiled and chipped on a regular basis.   The chipped mulch is then available for collection for FREE by residents.   Mulch is available for domestic users only.   It is not available for collection by commercial operators.

Free mulch can be collected from the following waste facilities for free, when it is available.

Quantity of mulch available at each site is subject to availability.  

Wear closed-in, covered shoes and follow direction of on-site staff at all times.  Loads of mulch must be covered before leaving the site.

Mulch is available as part of a privtae business that operates on the site.  Please direct all enquiries to the site operator.

Indemnity and Release

Council does not represent the waste to be suitable for any particular purpose (to the extent allowed by law). The quality of the waste is uncertain, and it may contain any of the following:-

• Weeds and Seeds
• Noxious plants
• Soil and/or rock
• Plastic/glass
• Metal
• Timber (which may have been treated)
• Food waste
• Other similar items.

Persons taking and/or using the waste agree to indemnify and keep indemnified Toowoomba Regional Council (and its servant, agents and contractors), from and against all claims, demands and suits which may be made against TRC relating to or arising out of the method of delivery or collection, the waste or its storage or use.
