Waste disposal vouchers - distribution commences 6 February 2012

Each year, council issues two free waste disposal vouchers to domestic ratepayers.   The vouchers for this financial year will commence delivery to all residential ratepayers on 6th February 2012.

Where are my vouchers?

Your two vouchers are found within the brochure that each ratepayer receives.  You can "push out" the perforated vouchers from the brochure and put them in your wallet.

 Where can I use my vouchers?

Vouchers can be used at any of the 13 waste facilities listed in the brochure.   All these facilities are staffed and charge gate fees for disposal of domestic waste.

Ellangowan waste facility reopens 4 February 2012

Ellangowan Waste Facility, Toowoomba-Karara Road, Ellangowan has been reopened to the public after being temporarily closed  temporarily closed on 27 January 2012 following two fires at the site.  

The site will reopen to the public from 10am on Saturday 4 February 2012.   Normal operating hours will then resume.

A fire at the facility on 25 January and another on Friday 27 January triggered serious safety concerns for users.   Council has addressed these issues. 

Commercial waste can not be disposed of at this facility.  The nearest facility for commercial operators are Clifton Waste Facility and Pittsworth Waste Facility. Both Clifton and Pittsworth facilities are open Monday, Thursday and Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am - 5pm.

New waste charges from 1 December 2011

New waste disposal fees and charges will apply at nominated Toowoomba region waste facilities in line with Queensland Government legislation from December 1 this year.

Uniform gate fees for residential and commercial operators will be introduced to offset operating costs.
