Gardening tools

Learn how to turn your backyard into a food forest. Save money while benefiting from fresh food and a healthy lifestyle. Herbs, fruits and vegetables are easy to grow in our temperate climate and it's not difficult to get started. Here are four ways to learn more about gardening in the toowoomba region;

  • Drop into the Toowoomba Community Organic Garden website: toga.org.au (opens in new window) during one of their weekly working-bees, and get your hands dirty while learning about organic gardening, permaculture and composting.
  • Attend a local expo or festival to hear from experts and talk to gardening suppliers. You can also participate in the events of GardenFest (opens in new window) and the Leafmore Garden Society Winter Garden School (opens in new window).

To assist your gardening efforts, Council supplies free garden mulch to residents (refer to article on this page).
