Sewerage and wastewater

Council's Water Infrastructure Asset Management area maintains sewerage infrastructure according to the Water Supply (Safety Reliability) Act 2008 and the Water Supply Code of Australia.

The Plumbing and Drainage Act 2002, the Queensland Plumbing and Wastewater Code and council’s development permit conditions ensure that on site sewerage systems are used correctly.

There are two types of properties in the region: a network of sewered properties, and unsewered properties requiring an on-site sewerage facility.
