The Queensland government's ClimateSmart home service program commenced on 5 January 2009. The program aims to provide services to 260,000 households across Queensland, over two years.
The program involves a licensed electrician visiting homes and performing an energy efficiency service. This includes:
A service like this would normally cost over $450, but residents pay just $50. Residents undertaking the service can save up to $250 a year in energy and water bills, and a total of up to 20.4 tonnes of greenhouse gases.
