Youth commitment

Our commitment to local young people is to assist in building the capacity of young people and service organisations to build a positive and cohesive community. It supports, facilitates and implements youth initiatives across a wide range of council and/or community services that:

• increase the range of cultural, recreational and artistic programs and projects; 
• showcase the local talents of young people and youth service organisations;
• promote and celebrate the varied talents of local young people;
• respond to young people and youth organisations through various mediums which include referral, advice, consultation, advocacy and community events (both internal and external);
• develop information and educational resources which include forums, workshops, newsletters, service directories, pamphlets, exhibitions and displays; and
• assist young people to implement projects that engage local communities including activities that promote individual, family and community wellbeing.
