Disaster Management Officers Visit St Thomas More’s School
Chairman of the Toowoomba Regional Council’s Local Disaster Management Group (Councillor Noel Strohfeld and the Manager of Community and Business Planning (Mr Kevin Wruck) visited the St Thomas More’s school on Thursday 3 February. They spoke to the students of Stage 3 about disaster event management and in particular the recent flood events that have occurred throughout the Toowoomba Regional council area.
The students were surprised to learn how many different people from many diverse organisations it took to ensure that everyone was safe and the effort that was needed to keep the coordination of the disaster event going.
