Community plan

Council has endorsed a new community plan that sets out what the community of the region would like to see occur for the next 10 years. The full-colour document now articulates the long-term vision, goals and priorities to strengthen the assets of the community. This plan was endorsed by council in late July and fulfils a legislative requirement as per the Local Government Act 2009.

The Community Plan now also serves as the key driver for the new corporate plan and the new planning scheme, as well as for other strategic, operational or action projects within council. The plan evolved from the higher-order 'strategic directions' project, which can be read in the 'Related documents'  below.

Annual report

The 2009/10 annual report provides important information of the council's achievements, challenges and performance in implementing its corporate plan and delivering our vision.

The report was adopted by council at its ordinary meeting on 16 November 2010.

The report is available online at the www.toowoombaRC.qld.gov.au/annualreport (opens in new window) website or in PDF from the 'Related documents' below.

Strategic Directions

The 'Strategic directions' documents reflect a desire to have a common starting point for all of council's forward-planning documents. It represents the one vision for the long-term future of the council area with inter-linking goals, outcomes, strategies and actions to facilitate achievement of the vision.

Strategic directions overview documents now provide the basis of:

Corporate plan 2009 - 2014

The 2009-2014 corporate plan was adopted by council on 16 June 2009. While this plan sets the strategic direction for council, it is recognised that this direction will always be evolving to reflect the needs of the region.

The 2009-2014 corporate plan will be comprehensively reviewed following the completion of a long-term community plan for the whole of the council area. Good planning combined with good management help guarantee future success.
