An invitation from Toowoomba Golf Club to the Wanganui Golf Club still stands for the opportunity for Toowoomba to redeem itself in the Too-Wanga Golf Tournament.
In April 2009 sixteen members from Toowoomba Golf Club travelled to New Zealand on a Golf Tour. One of the stops was at Toowoomba'a sister city, Wanganui.
From a visit to Toowoomba in March 2009 by Wanganui Councillors, Cr Ray Stevens and Cr Danny Jonas, the Toowoomba Golf Club and the Wanganui Golf Club developed a draft Reciprocal Club Rights Agreement and made arrangements for the Trans-Tasman competition now named the "Too-Wanga Trophy.
The Toowoomba Golf Club competed against 16 members of Wanganui Golf Club in the inaugural Too-Wanga Golf Tournament. The Wanganui team won, which was accredited to their home ground advantage. During the trip, the Toowoomba Golf Club members were hosted by the Wanganui District Council at a civic reception.
An invitation was issued by the Toowoomba Golf Club for the Wanganui Golf Club to visit Toowoomba for the second leg of the Too-Wanga Golf Tournament, where it’s hoped the home advantage works in Toowoomba’s favour.
