It’s a definite sign. As seedlings start to appear in private and public gardens, we know the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is just a season away.

The 62nd annual Carnival, from Friday, September 16 through to Sunday, September 25, will celebrate all things Spring.

Aside from the large signature events, this year will also see a continuation of a number of smaller family events.

Ensure you make it along to these events by marking the following dates in your diary now. Pictures in the Park, presented by Trilby Misso, will show G-rated movies at sunset each evening from Thursday, September 22 to Saturday, September 24 in Laurel Bank Park. Bring a picnic rug, food is available on-site.

Also in Laurel Bank Park will be the Biggest Little Lunch on Saturday, September 24 from 10am to 1pm. A big hit with the littlies, attractions will include pet zoos, face painting and kids sporting workshops.

StreetFest from 10am to 4pm on Sunday September 25 in Margaret Street between Ruthven and Neil is another must-see. Featuring family rides, vintage cars and entertainment for all ages, this event will ensure Carnival 2011 bows out with a blast.

Parkland Entertainment will be featured in Queens Park, Laurel Bank Park and Picnic Point on each of the 10 days of Carnival. Live, easy listening music will commence at 9am and conclude at 5pm each day.
