About Council News & publications Newsletters Draft regional planning scheme up for review

draftRegionalPlanToowoomba Regional Council’s draft regional planning scheme will be available for the public to review for the first time in mid 2011, via council’s website.

The new planning scheme will provide a regional perspective for planning and development for the first time for the whole of the Toowoomba Regional Council area. It also looks at how to accommodate the expected 70,000 new residents over the next 20 years.

The draft planning scheme has allowed council to plan where people will live, work, shop, exercise and play for the next 10 - 15 years.

Formal dates have not yet been made official, as it is still undergoing its first state government review, but it is anticipated the draft planning scheme will be available for the public from July to September 2011.

A series of information sessions will also be held across the region to explain the draft planning scheme and demonstrate how a submission to council can be prepared, should you have any concerns or ideas for improvement.

All submissions will be reviewed and will be formally acknowledged by council.

For details on the official public consultation dates and information sessions, please visit the planning scheme pages.
