Toowoomba Never Floods exhibition goes on the road

Members of our region's communities will have the opportunity to see components of the Toowoomba Never Floods exhibition currently on display at Cobb+Co Museum.

The travelling component of the Toowoomba Never Floods exhibition will visit many of Toowoomba Regional Council's libraries, museums and community centres across the region over coming months.

It includes historical timelines of both the summer floods of 2010-2011 and of past flooding events in the region.

The roles of community and service groups in responding to the floods are an important feature of the travelling exhibition which includes:

• Six pull-up display panels
• A DVD and USB of flood footage
• Disaster preparedness/Emergency kit
• Photo book for people to record their stories
• Three  toy emergency services hats for children to use to engage with the exhibition and a colouring/activity book.

• Highfields Cultural Centre                                June 27 – July 11
• John French VC Library, Crows Nest            July 11 – August 15
• Toowoomba Customer Service Centre           August 15 – 29
• Local History Library, Toowoomba                 August 29 – September 26
• Millmerran Library                                            September 26 – October 24.

An official launch of the Toowoomba Never Floods travelling exhibition will be held in the civic precinct at the Oakey Library on Tuesday, January 31 at 10.30am.
