Opening hours over Christmas

Council services will close on the public holidays over the Christmas - New Year period. After-hours emergency issues can be reported on our 131-TRC(872) customer service number during this time.

In addition to the public holidays, our service centres will be closed on Wednesday 28, Thursday 29 and Friday 30 December. However, you are welcome to call our Call Centre on 131-TRC(872) during normal business hours (8:30am to 5pm) on these days. Normal hours of operation will recommence on Tuesday 3 January 2012.

Please note the following opening hours for council facilities during the Christmas - New Year period.

• Toowoomba Waste Management Centre closed 25 December 2011 only.
• Toowoomba Library closed all public holidays. Open 24 December (Christmas eve) 9.30am to 12.00pm 28, 29 & 30 December - 11am to 4pm, 31 December (New Years Eve) 9.30 to 12.00pm. Reopen 3 January with normal hours.
• Local History Library (476 Ruthven Street) closes 12 noon 24 December and reopens 3 January.
• Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery and the Gallery Shop will be closed from December 24 until Monday, January 2. Normal operating and trading hours resume on Tuesday, January 3. (10am to 4pm Tuesday to Saturday; 1-4pm Sundays and 10am to 4pm public holidays.)
• Milne Bay Aquatic Centre open hours:
  • Saturday 24 December (Christmas eve) 7.00am - 5.00pm.
  • Sunday 25 December.
  • Christmas Day – CLOSED.
  • Monday 26 December (Boxing Day) 1.00pm - 6.00pm.
  • Tuesday 27 December.
  • Christmas Day Public Holiday 9.00am - 5.00pm.

• Highfields Cultural Centre closed Monday 19 December, reopening Monday 9 January.

  • Saturday 24 December, Christmas Eve 7.00am - 5.00pm.
  • Sunday 25 December.

• Crows Nest refuse tips all Closed (excl. Ravensbourne) - Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. All other days as per normal hours for site.
• Crows Nest Sports Centre closed Monday 19th December, reopening Monday 23rd January 2012.
• Crows Nest Library closed 12 noon 24th December 2011 and reopen 3rd January 2012.

• Oakey Library closed all Public Holidays. Open:
  • 24th & 31st December 2011 open 9am to 12 noon.
