Licensed operators this morning (Friday, September 23) relocated an aggressive male magpie from Toowoomba's West Creek Reserve.

Toowoomba Region Mayor Peter Taylor said independent operators followed Department of Environment and Resource Management guidelines when taking the bird to a new location around 100km from the city.

Cr Taylor said a warning sign was erected in Stenner Street near Lemway Avenue in the vicinity of another swooping magpie.

"Our thoughts and best wishes go to young Seth McInnes," Cr Taylor said.

"We all wish him a speedy recovery."

Cr Taylor said council had warning signs in areas where aggressive magpies were known to nest and would look to erect signs in locations where new problems were identified.
