This was the opening and parting message Queensland Senator Barnaby Joyce delivered forcefully to almost 730 patrons at this morning's 20th Mayoral Prayer Breakfast at Rumours International.

Senator Joyce, the National Party Leader in the Senate, said people should not be embarrassed to express Christian beliefs or feel they held a minority view.

"This gathering clearly is an example of how Toowoomba is doing its bit to keep the Christian faith alive," Senator Joyce said.

"Faith allows us to forgive and welcome others and we need to ensure it is not diminished in the public sphere.

"People can work by example at the family level, in schools or across the district to ensure we re-invest in our faith.

Motorists using the southern end of Old Goombungee Road may experience delays in coming weeks as pavement stabilisation works are carried out.

It has been found necessary to undertake these works to strengthen the road base as an interim measure prior to further reconstruction and repair works planned for later in 2012.

The Crows Nest community is invited to find out more about the Bullocky's Rest twin pedestrian bridges at the Crows Nest markets this weekend.

Representatives from Toowoomba Regional Council and construction contractor F K Gardner & Sons will be at the markets in the town square between 10am and 12 noon on Sunday to answer any questions about the project.

Works started on the bridges this week after TRC recently completed footpath approaches to the bridges.
